Vespa 2014 (Canada)

Released on November 4th, 2014 as part of the 99 issue Starbucks Card Holiday line-up, this Card is called Vespa 2014. This is a re-release from the Spring of 2003 for good reason. Not only is the subject matter fun, but this design had won the 2003 International Card Manufacturers Association (ICMA) Élan Award in the Best Non-Financial Card Design for Card Manufacturing Excellence category. The winning card, "Vespa", pictures whimsically animated artwork of a Vespa scooter and patrons enjoying coffee outside an Italian style bistro. The card was manufactured using a unique process on clear PVC. The card was complicated to manufacture, requiring several additional printing steps, more than is usually needed for a typical four-color card. So, here we are in 2014 and re-introducing this Card again with only a few minor changes, including the new sirens eye, dropping the STARBUCKSCARD line and replacing it with 2014 Limited Edition (over the striped awning).
