It's been three years since the original version of NEXT ONE'S ON US was produced and released in North America.
This design is very similar to the original, with some minor changes. Service Recovery is the "lingo" used when customers receive complementary drinks for a bad experience, poor customer service, etc. It's a way for Starbucks to redeem themselves with the customer.
This Starbucks Card replaces the current 2014 version. Just like the original, this Card is tapped-out at $4.00. The problem is most U.S. and Canadian markets would be okay with a $4.00 credit, but try to replace a frappuccino in New York or Los Angeles. Prices do fluctuate from market to market, so replacing an expensive drink with $4.00 is questionable with this system.
It should be noted that these Cards are much thinner than a standard Starbucks Card. They also have a QR type code on the back (click image for a closer look).
Collectors Note: The 2014 Holiday 99 issues has a similar Card "It's On Me This Time", used for person to person. Starbucks doesn't consider this a Starbucks Card.
NOTE: This Card doesn't have any money loaded. It's for collecting purposes only. |
