LAX Theme Building

The 2015 L.A. Starbucks Card takes us to one of the busiest airports in the world, Los Angeles International (LAX). Released in the greater Los Angeles metro around the first week of June 2015. The LAX Theme Building (as shown on this design) is an iconic landmark structure at (LAX) This distinctive white building resembles a flying saucer that has landed on its four legs. It opened in 1961, and it is an example of the Mid-Century modern influenced design school known as " Googie " or " Populuxe ." Prior to September 11, 2001, visitors were able to take an elevator up to the Observation Level to get a 360-degree view of arriving and departing planes. That has since closed due to security reasons, but after a $12.3 million restoration of the building completed in 2010, the observation level re-opened to the public for weekend viewing's.
