More information is surfacing on the Aspire Starbucks Card. It apparently was handed out at the annual Vancouver Partner Appreciation Day on June 27th, 2006. We've learned recently that it was handed-out to promote a new store opening. (see the data printed on the Sleeve). To date, it doesn't make a lot of sense why these Cards were handed out to employees when the wording says: "Love what you do. Talk to a store manager about working at Starbucks or visit Starbucks.com/careers". We believe this Card was being used for various functions and promotional events like Appreciation Day or store openings in the Vancouver, B.C. Canada area.
The Aspire Card was never available through normal channels (Starbucks stores, website, etc), but seem to show-up at times for various events (as reported above).
