Chicago Bean

Chicago Bean was released as part of the 2014 "city" Starbucks Card lineup during June of 2014. Only available in the greater Chicago metropolitan area, this makes the 3rd Chicago release to date.

Cloud Gate is a public sculpture by Indian-born British artist Anish Kapoor, that is the centerpiece of AT&T Plaza at Millennium Park in the Loop community area of Chicago. It looks like a coffee bean, hence the name "Chicago Bean", and was opened in 2006. Made up of 168 stainless steel plates welded together, its highly polished exterior has no visible seams. It measures 33 by 66 by 42 feet (10 by 20 by 13 m), and weighs 100 tons. Because the stainless steel is so reflective, the nearby cityscape and sky is reflected as depicted in this design.
