"No Card Issued"

For 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012, Starbucks decided to issue drip coffee coupons with the Shareholders package instead of a unique Starbucks Card. In past years (2003-2006) a special issue Card had $3.50 pre-loaded so the recipient could use it as they saw fit. Many Shareholders complained about this change as they liked the special issue made just for them.

Various reasons have circulated about the "no issue" Shareholder Cards, including that it costs too much to produce and the money saved on making a special Shareholder Card could open up as many as (3) three stores. Since Starbucks is closing many under performing stores the past few years, it's more likely a cost savings decision.
