Issued for Canada Day 2003 (July 1st), this card was only available in Canada.  Starbucks commissioned renowned Canadian designer and illustrator Andrew Lewis to create artwork that captures and celebrates the spirit and beauty of Canada.  His inspiration came from their history of exploration and adventure - a history of overcoming obstacles in traversing vast distances - a history that propels them even today. Collectors note: There is also a SPECIMEN version of the Heritage card (NO SERIAL NUMBER- issued to stores for display purposes) estimates based on number of stores that were open at the time, there are likely no more than 600 of these cards produced. See Starbucks Marketing Products under the Sleeves page. The store display for this Card is shown below.

In addition, this card was made into a "necklace" for the 2003 Toronto International Film Festival. Also seen in the Sleeves page.

Special Note: Though we don't cover the Visa Card releases, Canada has a Visa Duetto™ Card (issued in February 2005) that is similar to the Heritage Card design. It too was designed by Andrew Lewis
