"Snowflake"
Issued winter 2001, it's known as the "snowflake" card. It was Starbucks first holiday card issued and the first Starbucks card available to the public. The theme for Christmas was "Share the Spirit", and with the purchase of this card (minimum of $100.00), you received a special tin that has a postmark "Share the Spirit." The tin is marked "Holiday 2001" with the Starbucks logo on the backside. In addition, the tin had a cardboard insert for gifting with a candy cane stripe boarding the To, From and Amount.
For those that didn't want to load their card with $100.00 or more, the standard holiday sleeve was available at no additional cost. Red in color, it has the Starbucks logo and silver snowflakes on the front. Inside is a classic Christmas tag with the To, From and Amount with the "Share the Spirit" postmark.
Collectors Note: This sleeve is extremely rare to find now. SKU173197 The Starbucks gift tin (see image below) is also highly collectable and considered mega rare, It was the first and only tin case designed for a Starbucks card. A recent auction (Aug 2004) sold the tin for just over $300.00.
